CPC awarded vendor ServiceMaster Recovery Management (SRM) offers first priority to CPC Members in the event of a fire or other disaster. But like CPC, SRM would prefer that you never experience a fire in the first place. In that spirit, SRM has shared tips on inspections, escape planning, and education.
In the event that your organization does experience a loss due to fire, SRM’s services under the CPC contract include:
- Identifying the source to determine the type of fire that occurred,
- Evaluating the areas that are wet as a result of firefighting that may need treatment,
- Remediating water damage from sprinkler, firefighting, or other sources (if any),
- Evaluating sensitive materials that may be damaged as a result of smoke and soot particles,
- Boarding up and/or tarping to protect the property,
- If necessary, removing contents from the property,
- Performing structural restoration, like:
- Removing any charred contents that may seal in smoke such as insulation and burned wood,
- Evaluating carpets and floor coverings that may need to be removed,
- Treating affected surfaces for smoke odors and sealing.
- Cleaning, eliminating odors and deodorizing surfaces to pre-loss condition, and
- Returning items and helping to restore your normal life.
